  FEMALE COACH DEVELOPMENT


  

The Female Coaching Development Program is a British Columbia Soccer Association initiative aimed at promoting the education, training and certification of female soccer coaches from the grassroots to high performance levels of the game.

Female Only Community Coaching Clinics
Community Coach Children's, Youth and Senior courses are offered in a  "Female Only"  learning environment.  

Female Coach Apprenticeship Program
In efforts to identify, foster and development female coaches from the GRASSROOTS to ELITE Levels of play throughout the Province, the British Columbia Soccer Association's Technical Department are pleased to have the NEW “BRITISH COLUMBIA SOCCER ASSOCIATION FEMALE COACH APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM”,  which is entering it's second year of programming.  CLICK HERE for more details on this program.

This program provides an opportunity for a selected group of female coaches to work closely with coaches within the Provincial Teams Program on an annual basis. The goal of this program is to create an atmosphere where by these coaches may learn in an exciting, education and safe environment.

It is the hope of the British Columbia Soccer Association this experience will encourage these coaches to continue their path of development as a coach and make a commitment to a life long involvement in the coaching of players at all levels of play within British Columbia .

The program offers the following opportunities and benefits to the successful selected applicants;

·          Working closely with a specific girl’s age group Head Coach within the  Provincial Teams Program. This will include learning about player evaluation, training, organization and overall development philosophies of the British Columbia Soccer Association.

·          On completion of the Program successful applicants will be encouraged to pursue their next level of certification and it's course fee will be waived. 

·          Provide coaches with the necessary tools and experience to build a future for female coaches and become a leading force for positive change and development of lives of players.

Process
This program will begin each year with the call for applications in August.   Criteria for applicants for this female development program are as follows;

1.       Female.

2.       Certification is not necessary but would be an asset.

3.       Playing experience to be an asset.

4.       Must be 19 years of age.

5.       Fluency in English and hold a valid passport.

6.       Must be willing to submit to a criminal records check.

7.       Must not hold a position as a Club Team Head Coach or Assistant Coach within the age group which they are working with.

8.       Must be willing to work in conjunction with the BCSA Technical Department and its staff.

        This would include a commitment to the BCSA and its overall Player

        Development Program, philosophies on youth development and its coach mentor program.

9.       Must be in good standing with the British Columbia Soccer Association.

10.    Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally.
