  PROVINCIAL COMPETITIONS OVERVIEW

 

Thank you for visiting the British Columbia Soccer Association’s Official Competitions home page. 

 

We are proud to run Provincial Club Championships for both Youth and Senior teams. These exciting competitions are held in various locations each year and are hosted by local soccer associations.

There are two divisions for Youth:

1.        Provincial Cup (A Cup) and;

2.        BCSA Cup (B Cup).

Both divisions have categories for boys and girls in the under 13 to under 18 age groups.   The Champions in the Provincial Cup division in the under 14, under 16, under 18 boys and girls categories qualify to attend the National Club Championships which is organized by the Canadian Soccer Association.

On the Senior side, the BCSA organizes competitions for adult teams in the following categories for both Men and Women:

·          Under 21

·          Classics (Women's over 35)

·          Master (Men's over 35)

·          Senior A Cup

·          Senior B Cup

The Champions in the Senior A Cup divisions qualify to attend the National Club Championships which is organized by the Canadian Soccer Association.

 

These prestigious events offer teams from across British Columbia with the opportunity to compete against other teams in their age group and ability.

POWERHOUSE SURREY UNITED WOMEN CLAIM FIFTH STRAIGHT VICTORY
 
The Surrey United Premier Women defeated Westside FC  3-1 in overtime to win the open womens division at the Senior Provincial Championships in Chilliwack, Saturday May 10th. The Surrey women will now move on to compete in the Senior National Championships in St. John's Newfoundland in October. On the mens side, it was an Island sweep.

In the Mens Open category, Gorge FC defeated Sporting Club 1-0 in a hard fought match, and will now also move on to compete at National Championships.

In the U21 division, the NCUSC Elite pounced the Semiahmoo Spirit 5-2, while Cowichan beat the Poco City Rovers 2-0.

In the over 35 divisions (Masters and Classics), UVIC Alumni conquered the Surrey Rangers 2-1 in a dramatic match that featured two ejections on the Surrey side. Meanwhile the Meraloma women hung on to ovecome Gorge 2-1 in the final match of the day. This is the second consecutive year the Meraloma women have claimed the Senior Classic Championships.

With 12 teams, and over 300 participants, the British Columbia Soccer Association’s Senior Provincial Championships showcase the province’s top amateur adult club teams. The one day competition, taking place at Townsend Park and Exhibition Stadium in Chilliwack, consists of six categories: men and women, Under 21 and Open, and over 35 (Masters and Classics).

The Provincial Champions in the open category for both men and women will move on to compete in the Senior National Championships in St John’s, Newfoundland on October 8th- 13th.

Admission is by donation, ($2 minimum suggested) and all proceeds will go towards Chilliwack High School Soccer.
