REGIONAL EVALUATION CAMP DATES FOR THE 2008-2009 PROVINCIAL TEAMS PROGRAM

The British Columbia Soccer Association is pleased to announce, for the second year, the dates of the Regional Evaluation Camps as part of this year’s 1st District Development Centre visit.  These regional evaluation camps will act as preliminary evaluations for potential participation within the Provincial Teams Program Evaluation Camp process and potential selection to Regional Programming (Y League).  In addition, this will provide an opportunity to promote the necessity for players to participate in DDC programming with our regional partners throughout the province.

BCSA RECEIVES MAXIMUM FUNDING FROM GAMING POLICY AND ENFORCEMENT BRANCH
Duplicating the success of last year's  maximum grant amount of $250K , this year, we successfully secured a three-year commitment from the BC Gaming Policy and Enforcement branch for the respective annual maximum amount, for a total of $750K in funding.


REGISTER YOUR SUPPORT FOR THE WHITECAPS MLS BID!

Vancouver Whitecaps FC is pursuing one of two Major League Soccer (MLS) expansion franchises set to be added to the league by 2011. The deadline to submit a franchise bid to Major League Soccer is October 15, 2008.  As part of the application, the Whitecaps are asking the public to register their support of the bid online.  To register your support or to find out more information on this announcement, CLICK HERE.



BCSA ANNOUNCE NTC WEST PLAYER POOL & OFFICIAL CSA SCOUTING VISTING DATES
 
The British Columbia Soccer Association is pleased to announce, on behalf of the Canadian Soccer Association's National Training Centre West, the 2008 - 2009 Male and Female Player Pool. 
 
In addition the BCSA is pleased to announce that the 2008-2009 NTC Scouting Visits will be hosted by the Richmond Youth Soccer. 
 
During the NTC (National Training Centre) Program, National Team Coaches will visit the National Training Centre -West four times (National Scouting Visits) to discuss player progress with each NTC Director and identify players who can potentially compete internationally. Players will be assessed on  a 8 week training period in the  Technical, Tactical, Physical and Mental areas of the game. Following this evaluation, player's member status will be reviewed.
