STRATEGIC PLANNING
The British Columbia Soccer Association has embarked on a process of extensive consultation with BC’s soccer community. The information collected through this process will support the development of a strategic plan for Soccer in British Columbia.

More Details
Our Strategic Plan

We are pleased to update you on progress of our Strategic Planning.

To ensure the concerns and goals of our province-wide membership are reflected as we plan for the future, we are leading a series of community-led Mini Summits. This consultative process will be used to develop our strategy for the next five years and beyond.

Phase I: Soccer Summit

The planning process began with a groundbreaking Soccer Summit at the Semi Annual General Meeting in January, 2005. Approximately 60 delegates from throughout the province attended the facilitated workshops, which dealt with the development of players, coaches and officials. A report on the findings was completed and made available to the membership.

Phase II: Regional Mini Summits

Building on the Phase I Summit findings, a series of regional outreach Mini Summits was initiated in Prince George in December, 2005.
We have since facilitated well-attended, dynamic and insightful workshops on the regional issues and planning priorities of soccer in:

·        Parksville
·        Victoria
·        Richmond
·        Vernon
·        Surrey
·        North Shore

The participants in each District/Regional Summit developed an Environment Scan, outlining the current state of soccer in their area. Included are the strengths, challenges, opportunities and threats regarding their organizations from both an external and internal perspective (SCOT). These scans help set a benchmark for measuring progress as we move forward.

Next, the Mini Summit participants identified the key strategic issues for their area and arranged them in order of priority. These informed priorities will form the basis of the provincial Strategic Plan.

From the records of the Mini Summits we created reports, which are posted on this website. We invite you to read them for their excellent overview and insights into the passion, commitment and vision of the British Columbia Soccer Association family.–

We would like to acknowledge the participation of all of the communities, clubs, districts and regions that have taken part in our Strategic Planning consultative process. Your time, energy and dedication to the beautiful game will help to ensure our plan will lead to an even greater future for our sport.
