While it is common for youth players to 'play up' a level or two, not much is known about the BCSA Playing Down Policy.
The British Columbia Soccer Association recognizes the need to ensure everyone has the opportunity to play soccer. It is our goal to guarantee soccer is available to everyone regardless of any challenges relating to racial origin, physical disability, or financial means. All persons have a right to participate in soccer.
The British Columbia Soccer Association is fully committed to the fostering of physical, mental and emotional growth and development of British Columbia’s youth through the sport of soccer at all levels of age and competition.
By providing opportunities to play down, children with mental or physical disabilities will have the opportunity to learn and play soccer.
