Dear Members and Friends of BC Soccer,

As BC Soccer has received a substantial number of enquiries relating to a potential change in the coastal playing season we wish it to be understood that any discussions and considerations are in a very preliminary stage. It is clear that a decision on a change of this magnitude could only be achieved through extensive consultation with our membership, as well as the various external stakeholder groups that play an important role in the provision of soccer programs and services.

Dear BC Soccer Member,

BC Soccer is pleased to share with you some exciting news relating to future field and facility opportunities.

As you may already be aware, last week’s Federal Budget announcement revealed a new $500 million fund initiative, to be expended in the next two years, to renew and build sport and recreation facilities within our communities.

The budget highlighted in detail the need for “hockey arenas, soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts, and swimming pools” as examples for upgrading, renewal and building through this nationally delivered initiative.

The program will be a 50/50 matching initiative through regional development agencies whereby provinces and municipalities, community sport organizations, and the private sector may all apply for matching funds where shovel ready projects exist. Three big goals drive the new fund- economic stimulus, quality facilities, and national spirit- and the allocation will be based on merit and readiness accordingly.

Click the “Read More” link below to view what this means for BC Soccer Members.

Most football fans have played the game at some point as children and most of us will probably want to - or are already doing it - teach our kids how to play it. There are all kinds of courses available to help them learn the game and get better at it, but who teaches the parents how to play their part in helping their child enjoy football?

That's where Sports Path ™  come in. Their online courses are aimed at 'soccer parents', teaching them all about how best to help their kids grow into the sport, though it's important to point out at this stage that the courses aren't a 'how to' guide. The most important thing with Sports Path is making football fun for your kids.
