"We are delighted to have Dante join our staff team and we believe his contributions will help strengthen and enrich our program delivery, most notably in terms of player and coach development," said Bjorn Osieck, Executive Director of the BCSA, the provincial governing body committed to the development of soccer by inspiring British Columbians to lifelong active, inclusive and team play.

"Creating powerful new synergies with partners such as the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, along with the Government of BC and Sport BC, is a cornerstone of our long-term strategic 'Game Plan',” explained Osieck. "Adding further regional staff members to our team now is only the first in a series of steps we are planning to take to better serve the game, our membership and participants throughout BC."

A very experienced coach and a long standing member of the soccer community on Vancouver Island, Dante brings a level of passion, knowledge and expertise to the position, essential to the delivery of BCSA programs throughout the province.

"We continue to strive for improvement in all areas of programming, including our commitment to servicing our membership in the area of soccer development," said Michael Findlay, Senior Programs Coach and Director of Soccer Development for the BCSA. "By appointing Dante as our first regional staff coach we are better equipped to provide our members with enhanced geographical coverage, training environment and the continued development of our coaches throughout British Columbia."

As Program Staff Coach and Manager of the District Development Centre Program, Zanatta will spearhead the continued efforts of the BCSA and its partners to create a strong regionalized network throughout the province based on the infrastructure of the BCSA's District Development Centre Program.

"Our objective is to provide every young player and coach the same development and advancement opportunities within British Columbia, no matter where he or she lives," added Findlay.

Zanatta will join the BCSA's staff team effective August 5th 2008.
