Competitions

Playing soccer or participating within the sport as a coach, referee or other important volunteering roles, is at the core of everything BC Soccer is and does.  No matter your age, ability or interest, there is a program or an activity available, and our aim is that you engage in soccer, are valued for your participation, and that the experience is positive. In this section, we’ll introduce you to the various participation options within our membership.

We’ll also share information on specific Leagues and competitions within the Youth and Adult structure.

Youth Competition

Children are already kicking while they’re in the womb. Put a ball in front of a toddler and they’ll instinctively try to kick or dribble it. As with education, a child’s physical literacy and coordination is completely unique, and so is their journey in sport. It’s critically important for their growth and development that they participate in environments appropriate to their age and ability.

Standards-Based Leagues

Identified players who are motivated to challenge themselves with and against similar players in competitive league play, generally end up in the British Columbia Premier League (BCSPL) which serves players from U13 to U18 and is the highest level of youth competition in the province, with member clubs requiring a Canada Soccer National Youth Club License to participate.

Adult Competition

BC Soccer aims to inspire all British Columbians to play soccer for life. With more than 15,000 adults participating throughout the province at all levels, there’s a league and team that will perfectly suit your ability and schedule.

Member Leagues

Adult Soccer is administered by Full Member and Associate Member Adult Leagues, in addition to Permitted Adult Leagues (below).

These Women’s and Men’s adult leagues offer options for all levels of play, ranging from recreational to competitive as well as specific age divisions including U21 through to 40+ (depending on the league). Here you’ll find the complete list of BC Soccer’s Adult Member Leagues.

The Adult Leagues also compete in BC Soccer's Adult Provincial Championships which climax with the BC Soccer Provincial Championship Finals weekend in the second weekend of May annually.  You'll find a list of links to the Adult Leagues in our Membership Directory
