Festivals & Workshops

BC Soccer is pleased to support member organizations and affilfiated clubs by providing three free festival and/or  workshop offerings that not only support player development and fun participation but also increase coach education and training.

In addition to the indoor and outdoor festival discussed below, BC Soccer is also able to offer a Goalkeeping (U13+) workshop upon request.

To request a workshop or festival, please contact BC Soccer's Soccer Development Officer Alfonso Munoz at alfonsomunoz@bcsoccer.net

Festivals (Outdoor)

BC Soccer is pleased to provide Grassroots Festivals to celebrate soccer across the Province.

The festivals are designed to support both coaches with increased education and the players who participate within them. For the coaches, BC Soccer will train the coaches in a support environment on how to deliver the station based festival format. The training consists of approximately 90 minutes either prior to the festival or the evening prior (depending on the event logistics). For the players involved, these are fun filled events designed to maximize enjoyment and player participation within an age appropriate station based learning environment.

Member organizations and/or affiliated clubs are able to host these festivals which make for a great way to provide coach education and a support player development. For more information and/or to request to host a festival, please contact Paul Turner, BC Soccer Grassroots Development Officer at paulturner@bcsoccer.net.

Futsal Festival (Indoor)

Futsal is the only indoor version of soccer recognized by the international governing body of soccer, FIFA. It is a 5-aside (5v5) game, played on a smooth court surface with an age specific futsal (low bounce) ball. These factors allow each player to make technical and tactical decisions, and promote physical and social elements associated with soccer. This fast paced, skillful game can be used as a great development tool for soccer players of all ages.

BC Soccer is able to adapt the festival format and delivery model to facilitate a futsal style festival for member organizations/affiliated clubs wishing to host an indoor festival.
