Membership

Becoming a Member

Under our current governance model, there are two levels of membership; “Full”, and “Associate”.  To see all active Full and Associate members, visit our Membership Directory

Any non-affiliated adult (senior) league or youth district may apply to become an Active Member of the BC Soccer Association. Active membership entitles the league/district to:

  • Access to BC Soccer Registered Referees
  • Insurance (Accident and Liability)
  • Ability to apply for Tournament Sanctioning
  • Ability to apply for Out-of-Province travel
  • Ability to request / host Certification Clinics (Referee & Coaching)
  • Ability to participate in sanctioned tournaments
  • Receive BC Soccer Communications
  • Support in the development of coaches and referees
  • Support from the referee program for the ongoing monitoring / assessing of referees
  • Invitation to regular Adult / Senior League meetings
  • Voice and vote at General Meetings of the Association
  • Participate in a provincial championship, and at some levels if successful, participate in the national club championships (with financial support (flights) from BC Soccer / Canadian Soccer)

Organizations can seek Associate (Limited) Membership in one of the following categories:

Access to Soccer - Designed for charities and societies working to provide better access to organized soccer activities, training or education while removing barriers to participation. These barriers could be due to culture, race, gender, socioeconomic background, or disabilities.

  • Ability to apply for tournament sanctioning

  • Ability to register participants
  • Ability to request/host BC Soccer Coaching and Referee Clinics
  • BC Soccer Communication
  • Ability to participate in BC Soccer sanctioned tournaments
  • Voice at general meetings

Adult Performance - Designed for organizations that operate adult soccer at a performance level in accordance with Canada Soccer Player Pathway. Encompasses post-secondary institutions, professional and semi-professional Clubs.

  • Ability to request/host BC Soccer Coaching and
  • Refereeing Clinics
  • BC Soccer Communication
  • Ability to participate in BC Soccer sanctioned tournaments
  • Voice at general meetings
  • Ability to apply for out of province travel

Adult League (Competitive) - Adult leagues established to operate a competitive league with no desire to participate in the BC Soccer Provincial Championships, but wishing to participate in BC Soccer sanctioned tournaments and travel out of province, etc
