BC Soccer is currently working to update the Bylaws and Constitution, along with the Rules and Regulations documents to reflect the amendments with the aim of having them posted shortly.

BC Soccer would like to highlight and congratulate the membership on their forward thinking in many areas as it relates to the updates and improvements that were made to the Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the association.  A couple of the positive amendments that were approved relate to all member organizations needing to be Registered Societies in BC, along with having required coaching education/certification standards for all coaches by June 1, 2016.

A number of the amendments remove duplication within different rules and policies, remove expired items, bring in line with current practice, consolidate for easier understanding, ensure consistence with CSA rules and regulations and the BC Society Act along with concurrent with legal recommendation.  “There is more work to be done to further improve the association’s rules and regulations and meet the strategic directive of developing the bylaws and rules to reflect emerging soccer practices and member needs over time.” stated Roger Barnes, President, “However, the work that has been done over the last 8-10 months that the membership approved on Saturday, definitely set the association up to collectively achieve that in time.”
