Consistent with past elections, in order for the membership to evaluate candidates, the membership has requested candidates to provide notice to BC Soccer prior to the AGM by completing the BC Soccer Board of Directors 2014 Elections Candidate Form available on the BC Soccer website: bcsoccer.net.

The Nomination Committee encourages the membership to identify potential candidates who have sufficient soccer knowledge, reflect the diversity (geography, gender, ethnicity, age) of the people served by BC Soccer and who possess the skills, personal attributes and key competencies outlined in the BC Soccer Board of Directors: Skills and Experience Profile (also available at bcsoccer.net). To address our diversity needs, prospective qualified candidates from the Interior of British Columbia and women are encouraged to submit their names as candidates.

In addition, qualified individuals with the following background skills and experience (non-prioritized) would address current skill/experience gaps on the Board of Directors:

• Communications/Public Relations
• Risk Management
• Business Development (Marketing/Sales/Sponsorship/Fundraising)
• Executive Human Resource Management
• Accounting (Professional Designation)

Consistent with past practice, an individual may also declare his/her candidacy directly from the floor at the Annual General Meeting to be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at The Delta Burnaby Hotel and Conference Centre, 4331 Dominion Street, Burnaby, BC.

All prospective candidates are invited to attend the reception event, held on the evening of Friday June 13 at approximately 8:00pm, which is the day before the Annual General Meeting.  This event will be held at The Delta Burnaby Hotel and Conference Centre, 4331 Dominion Street, Burnaby, BC and provides an opportunity for candidates to meet/introduce themselves to some of the membership in an inform setting.

Further, all prospective candidates are asked to attend an All Candidates Meeting to be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 1:30pm at The Delta Burnaby Hotel and Conference Centre, 4331 Dominion Street, Burnaby, BC. This will provide an opportunity for candidates to introduce themselves, outline their vision to the Membership and to answer questions that may arise.
