2015 BC Soccer is accepting candidates for its Board of Directors

BC Soccer is accepting candidates for its Board of Directors for terms commencing June 13, 2015. Prospective candidates are invited to review the information provided below. Candidates who provide notice to BC Soccer of their intent to stand for election by April 29, 2015 will be circulated to the membership in early May.

There is anticipated to be seven (7) positions open for election including First Vice President, the Vice President Adult, and five (5) directors shall be elected for 2 year director terms.  
                                                                                                                      
Consistent with past elections, in order for the membership to evaluate candidates, the membership has requested candidates to provide notice to BC Soccer prior to the AGM by completing the BC Soccer Board of Directors 2015 Elections Candidate Form available below and submitted by April 29, 2015 to Jason Elligott at jasonelligott@bcosccer.net.

The Nomination Committee encourages the membership to identify potential candidates who have sufficient soccer knowledge, reflect the diversity (geography, gender, ethnicity, age) of the people served by BC Soccer and who possess the skills, personal attributes and key competencies outlined in the BC Soccer Board of Directors: Skills and Experience Profile (also available below). To address our diversity needs, prospective qualified candidates from the Interior of British Columbia and women are encouraged to submit their names as candidates.

In addition, qualified individuals with the following background skills and experience (non-prioritized) would address current skill/experience gaps on the Board of Directors:

• Communications/Public Relations
• Risk Management
• Business Development (Marketing/Sales/Sponsorship/Fundraising)
• Executive Human Resource Management
• Accounting (Professional Designation)

Consistent with past practice, an individual may also declare his/her candidacy directly from the floor at the Annual General Meeting to be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at The Delta Burnaby Hotel and Conference Centre, 4331 Dominion Street, Burnaby, BC.

All prospective candidates are invited to attend various event/meetings held in conjunction with the BC Soccer AGM weekend.  

Further, all prospective candidates are asked to attend an All Candidates Meeting to be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 1:30pm at The Delta Burnaby Hotel and Conference Centre, 4331 Dominion Street, Burnaby, BC. This will provide an opportunity for candidates to introduce themselves, outline their vision to the Membership and to answer questions that may arise. Attendance at this meeting is considered an important step in the election process.
