2017 Provincial Cup Results!

Four Youth Provincial and the Adult Provincial Cups completed as all Provincial Cup Championship Teams Crowned

Vancouver BC, July 12, 2017 – The 2017 BC Soccer Provincial Cups came to close on Sunday, July 9th as three Youth Provincial Championships wrapped up with 23 teams crowned provincial cup champions. The Provincial Premier Cup and Adult Provincial Cup finals were completed early this year with 12 EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League teams and 7 Adult teams crowned champions making a total 42 provincial championship teams in 2017. BC Soccer will be releasing more stories from the provincial cup in the coming weeks which will highlight specific youth events and matches!

“Throughout all 4 weekends of the 2017 provincial cups there were some incredible matches and I want to congratulate all of the teams that competed,” said Kjeld Brodsgaard, BC Soccer President. “I also want to thank all of the hosts and volunteers for putting on an exceptional and memorable competition for the players and coaches.”   

The Les Sinnott Memorial B Cup in Vernon, the Youth Provincial A Cup held in Surrey, and the Girls Provincial B Cup also held in Surrey all came to a close this past weekend on July 9th.  BC Soccer crowned 23, under 13 to under 18 boy’s and girl’s teams, provincial cup champions.

Youth Provincial A Cup in Surrey hosted by Central City Breakers Football Club
Youth Provincial Girls B Cup hosted by Coastal FC
Les Sinnott Memorial B Cup hosted by North Okanagan Youth Soccer Association

The Provincial Premier Cup finals were hosted by Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC on July 24 and July 25 2017. 12 boys and girls teams from under 13 – under 18 were crowned provincial cup champions. The winning teams in the U15 and U17 age divisions will represent BC Soccer at the Canada Soccer National Club Championships.

The BC Soccer Adult Provincial Championships were held over two weekends this year due to inclement weather leading up to the championships. Both weekends of the competition were held at Burnaby Lake west and all matches were lived streamed. 7 teams were crowned provincial cup champions with the Men’s A, Women’s A, Women’s Masters and Men’s Masters teams heading off to represent BC Soccer and the Canada Soccer Club Nationals.  This year the Women’s A Second place team will also be representing BC Soccer at the Club National Championships.
