BC Soccer Announces its new Vision and Mission with its 2016-2019 Strategic Plan

Vancouver BC, March 28, 2016 – Building on the success of the 2012-2015 BC Soccer Strategic Plan, BC Soccer is pleased to introduce to the membership and the wider soccer community it’s 2016-2019 Strategic Plan.

BC Soccer’s aim is to support Canada Soccer in reaching their goals of national and international success for high performance athletes as we build a strong soccer nation.  While supporting Canada Soccer, BC Soccer must also ensure the BC Provincial Government’s (ViaSport) holistic and encompassing goals of inclusiveness and accessibility are taken into account, as well as ensuring the BC Soccer members and affiliates across the province are equally supported. To be a successful PSO, BC Soccer cannot compromise one set of goals or objectives for another.

“Our 2016-2019 Strategic Plan builds on the achievements of the last four years, and strives to complete some of the outstanding objectives”, said Aiman El-Ramly, Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. “Reflecting our members' needs, and the goals of Canada Soccer and the BC Provincial Government (ViaSport), the new Strategic Plan has a strong emphasis on strategies to “Grow the Game” and to lead technical development over the next five years”.

Positioning itself to be able to meet needs and goals mentioned above BC Soccer has formulated its Strategic Goals for 2016-2019 (April 2016 through March 2020) within the following pillars:

1. Support members
2. Grow the game
3. Accessibility and excellence in sport performance
4. Technical and operational leadership
5. Governance

BC Soccer has also restated its Vision and Mission to align with it’s new strategic goals:

New Vision: ensure every British Columbian has the opportunity to be involved in soccer as part of a lifelong commitment to active, healthy and involved lifestyle.

New Mission: to govern, promote and develop the game of soccer in British Columbia in a professional and progressive manner.

“BC Soccer is pleased to be introducing a new vision and mission statement which aligns with the 2016- 19 Strategic Plan, which will guide the association in the years ahead,” said Roger Barnes, BC Soccer President.
