BC Soccer Announces Selections for Western Canada Summer Games

Vancouver BC July 20, 2015 - Western Canada Summer Games Male and Female Head Coaches Luca Dalla Pace and Gary Moody, have named their 18 player rosters that will assemble August 1, 2015.

The Western Canada Games take place Aug 7-16, 2015 in Wood Buffalo Alberta but BC Soccer’s Western Canada Summer Games team will meet a week in advance for preparation.

“The Western Canada Games is a unique opportunity for players to be part of a large multisport event and be a part of Team BC with all the other sports athletes,” said Luca Dalla Pace, Western Canada Games Head Coach, “The Western Canada games happen every four years and we hope all of the players will have an experience that will both be memorable and which will aid in their overall development.”

Both the male and female selection camps took place from July 3-13 for 1999/2000 born players. The following 18 male and female players were picked for the Western Canada Games Team Roster.

The females will take on Northwest Territories in their first match and the male team will open up with a match vs Yukon. Both of the opening matches will take place on Thursday August 13, 2015. The last Western Canada Summer Games was in Kamloops in 2011, where the Women’s team captured gold and the Men’s Team came away with the silver medal.
