BC Soccer Announces the 2013/14 Scholarship Winners

15 graduating youth soccer participants in BC to receive a total of over $16,000 in scholarships on July 12

Vancouver, BC, June 18, 2014 – BC Soccer is proud to present fifteen Scholarships to some of BC’s most inspiring and promising individuals involved in soccer in BC.  Recipients came from all across British Columbia and are being recognized for not only excelling in academics but also for their continued contributions to society and soccer at many different levels.

“We are very grateful to have three new donors; Wayside Printers, The Stadnyk Foundation, and Signal Systems making for a complete total of 15 scholarships and over $16,000,” said Paul Mullen, Executive Director of BC Soccer. “Each and every one of the scholarship winners is very deserving and we are happy to be able to offer them these scholarships and help with their future endeavors.”

Each of the BC Soccer Scholarship winners have shown an incredible dedication within both their soccer and academic careers in British Columbia.  The fifteen recipients listed below are all headed off to universities to continue their studies and the BC Soccer Scholarships will be awarded on July 12 to help aid in achieving their future goals.

The BC Soccer Scholarship, funded by the association, is Ryan Wright of New Hazelton.                        

The recipient of the Alex Leitch Soccer Express Scholarship, funded by Soccer Express, is Port Coquitlam’s Kelsey Smith.

Alexander Holburn Beaudin and Lang LLP funded two Scholarships awarded to Erica Augsten of Nelson and Vancouver’s Connor Harrigan.

The recipient of the All Sport Marketing Scholarship, funded by AllSport Insurance, is Tatjana Stone from Kamloops.

Surrey Metro Soccer Association and the Dancey Family jointly fund the Dancey Family Scholarship awarded to Sarah Leach from Fort St. James.      
     
Evan Stefanek from Qualicum Beach is the recipient of the Mainland Soccer League Scholarship, a BC Soccer legacy funded scholarship.                  

The recipient of the Pacific Coast Soccer League Scholarship, which is funded by the member league, is Bret Depner from Penticton.

Kiana Goddard from Surrey is the recipient of the South District Girls Soccer Association funded, Sandra Duncan Scholarship.

BC Soccer’s partner, Signal Systems funded the company named Scholarship to Anna Black from Vancouver.

The recipient of the Surrey Metro Soccer Association Scholarship funded by the association is Tyler Henderson of Surrey.     

Nikeisha Dass from Port Alberni is the recipient of The Stadnyk Foundation Scholarship funded by the foundation.

BC Soccer’s travel partner, Unigloge funded two company named Scholarship to Carly Shaw-MacLaren from Prince George and Richmond’s Ian Weber.

The recipient of the Wayside Printers Scholarship, funded by Wayside, is Lauren Anderson from Mission.                
                                                                                  
BC Soccer will be awarding all of the scholarship winners on June 12, at Vancouver Whitecaps FC match vs Chivas FC. All of the donors and scholarship winners will be on hand to celebrate the achievements of these young BC Soccer players.

BC Soccer would like to thank the three new donors for their support as well as the 10 returning donors for their continued support of this initiative.
