BC Soccer announces Female Grant Initiative!
March 1, 2017, Vancouver BC – BC Soccer is happy to celebrate International Women’s Day by announcing a Female Grant initiative Program aimed at enhancing, attracting, and retaining female programming. The program will consist of $1000 grants that any BC Soccer member can apply for.
There are more than 47,000 female soccer players, 1100 referees and many more female coaches, administrators and volunteers within the BC Soccer Membership. BC Soccer is proud to celebrate female participation within the beautiful game!
“The BC Soccer Women in Soccer Committee worked hard to create an on-going initiative that will support, promote, and help develop women’s soccer in British Columbia,” said Shannon Foster, Chair of the BC Soccer Women in Soccer Committee. “We really hope and are encouraging our members to take advantage of this initiative as we know there are some members doing wonderful things to support women’s soccer and this grant will allow them to improve those programs”
BC Soccer will be opening applications for the Female Grants on April 1, 2017 with a closing date of June 30, 2017. These dates will give all members the opportunity to put together their applications as well as work to create a program that will best support women in soccer. BC Soccer has created an online form where applications can be completed as well as application criteria and suggestions for how the grants could be used. All of this is will be available on the BC Soccer Grants page on April 1, 2017.
