BC Soccer High Performance Match Schedule

BC Soccer High Performance Match Schedule and Western Canada Games Information

Vancouver BC February 2, 2017 – Continuing from the successful High-Performance matchups in 2015/16 BC Soccer is happy to announce the schedule for the High-Performance Program and BCSPL matches with Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency and Girls Elite Rex Program teams. These matches were introduced in 2015 but will now become consistent additions to the BCSPL schedule as they provide players with further opportunities to be identified by professional clubs, universities, colleges, and national team programs.

“These matches were incredibly successful the past few seasons and we want to continue to build on them going forward,” said Luca Dalla Pace, BC Soccer High-Performance Pathway Officer. “Included once again in the schedule are University Showcase matches which will allow the top grade 11 and 12 players additional opportunities to be scouted by local and national university representatives. This will also be used as assessments and evaluations for our 2017 Canada Games Teams.”

These High-Performance matches will take place at Empire Field in Vancouver and/or at Simon Fraser University (SFU). Each of the matches allow for identification opportunities for youth high-performance players and they also help continue to build clearer and more consistent player identification opportunities between Vancouver Whitecaps FC, BC Soccer, Canada Soccer,  universities and college soccer programs.

“BC Soccer has created the perfect environment (the HP program) for the top performing players within the BCSPL to showcase their potential in front of Whitecaps FC & CSA coaching staff,” said Craig Dalrymple, Technical Director Vancouver Whitecaps Residency.  The BCSPL has proven to be a breeding ground for talented young players with aspirations of becoming a professional footballer. We are delighted to continue on with this player identification initiative for 2016 and beyond.”

Players are selected to the BC Soccer High-Performance Program through ongoing assessments, evaluations from BC Soccer technical staff, and through recommendations from BCSPL Franchise Club Technical Directors.
