Vancouver BC, September 15, 2017 – The BC Soccer Conference is a FREE one-day conference which is open to anyone and is directly tailored toward the soccer landscape in British Columbia and Canada. The conference will kick off with special guest speaker Jason de Vos and following the opening speaker, attendees will then break out into their specific streams: Player and Coach Development, Judicial and Discipline Certification , Head Referee Workshop, and Administration and Club Management Please note that all of the conference topics will be presented in-classroom lecture format.

“The BC Soccer Conference is a great way for people involved with soccer to increase their knowledge on the soccer landscape in British Columbia and Canada and also network with other individuals performing the same types of duties for their soccer organizations,” said Kjeld Brodsgaard, BC Soccer President. “Having the conference split up into four streams allows for everyone to take part, regardless of whether they’re interested in coaching and player development, refereeing, or administrating and managing from a board perspective. We’ve worked hard to ensure the content is both relevant to the stream as well as engaging and we encourage anyone interested to register to enjoy some great presenters.”

Soccer has developed significantly, both on and off the field, over the last number of years and through its strategic plan, BC Soccer has identified various ways and objectives to help support soccer and better service the members and individuals within it. One of these is to actively support members by hosting a Soccer Conference which specifically focuses on increasing awareness of and developing the domestic game. “The aim of the conference is to provide an overall perspective of soccer in BC and Canada by providing specific education delivered by knowledge-specialists within the streams of Player and Coach Development, Judicial and Discipline, Refereeing, and Administration and Club Management.” said Jason Elligott, BC Soccer Executive Director. “Having Canada Soccer’s Director of Development, Jason de Vos as our key note speaker, will be a great opportunity for all in attendance to hear the national direction from the Canada Soccer."
