BC Soccer Hosts Adult Provincial Cup Draw on March 31 at Fortius Sport and Health

Vancouver BC, March 27, 2014 – From 7-9 P.M. On March 31, BC Soccer will host the Adult Provincial Cup Draw at the Forum Room in Fortius Sport and Health.  Clubs and leagues in the draw are encouraged to attend as BC Soccer will have special guest speakers, drinks, food, and amazing prizes on hand.  For those from outside the lower mainland BC Soccer will be working with VIASport to live stream the event which will be viewable at www.bcsoccer.net.

“ This an exciting time of year for adult soccer in British Columbia and we really hope as many clubs and league representatives who are part of the competition able to attend,” said Rob Brown, BC Soccer Vice President Adult. “It’s going to be a great event and we are really happy that we can offer a live stream for all of those who can’t attend.”

More than 100 top adult league teams will be part of the eight different draws that will all happen on Monday March 31.  BC Soccer will have special guests from the Canadian Soccer Association, Whitecaps FC, and AM650 to help conduct the official draw.  Food and drinks along with a collection of prizes including the new Adidas World Cup Ball the Brazuca, Whitecaps FC tickets, and more will be available for those who are able to attend in person.

“ This is an extremely important day for all of the adult teams competing in the Provincial Championships and we look forward to making this and incredible event for those who are able to attend and those who are watching the live stream,” said Kjeld Brodsgaard, BC Soccer First Vice President and Chair of the Adult’s Competition Committee. “Many of the teams who win their respected provincial cup will go on to represent their club and the province at national and regional competitions and I would like to wish all of the teams the best of luck in both the draw and their matches”

About the Adult Provincial Championships

There are four divisions of competition for Adults:  

  • Under 21 (age group)
  • Masters / Classics (Men / Women over 35 age group)
  • Adult Provincial A Cup (open age group)
  • Adult Provincial B Cup (open age group)

The Champions in the Adult Provincial A Cup divisions qualify to compete at the National Club Championships organized by the Canadian Soccer Association.
