BC Soccer is Now Accepting 2015-2016 Awards and Scholarship Applications

Application deadline March 31, 2016

Vancouver BC, February 1 2016 - We are pleased to inform everyone that BC soccer is currently accepting Awards and Scholarship nominations until the submission deadline date of March 31, 2016. Selection of the award recipients is based on many factors including the individual’s commitment, community involvement and willingness to give back to the game. Selection of the Scholarship nomination is based on many of the same things but also includes the academic achievements of those applying for a scholarship.

Awards
In recognition of their outstanding achievements at the Provincial, National and International level, awards are also presented to the top youth and adult players and officials from our membership base. Future recipients will hope to follow in the footsteps of notable past winners including Marcus Haber (Crewe Alexandra, Canadian Men’s national team player), Michelle Pye (FIFA Women’s World Cup referee) and Christine Sinclair (current Captain and all-time leading goal scorer on the Canadian Women’s National team).

BC Soccer would also like to remind members of the BC Soccer Fair Play award which will be sponsored by Clarkes and will be presented at the BC Soccer awards ceremony. Throughout the year, leagues, clubs, teams, and players can submit nominations for the BC Soccer Fair Play award.  Although the final award will not be handed out until the awards ceremony, BC Soccer will showcase award nominees on our website and social media channels to help promote fair play throughout the year.

Scholarships
BC Soccer is also accepting Scholarship Applications which must be signed off by the appropriate Youth District Chairperson or Adult League President. The completed application can either be forwarded to BC Soccer by the Youth District/Adult League or the individual who is applying for the scholarship application.
