BC Soccer is Now Accepting 2016 to 2020 Youth Provincial Cup Host Applications

BC Soccer is looking for youth districts and/or their affiliate clubs who are interested in hosting the Les Sinnott Memorial Boys Provincial Cup, Girls Provincial B Cup or the Provincial A Cup

Vancouver BC, February 5, 2015 - BC Soccer is proud to operate provincial championships for youth teams. These prestigious competitions offer teams across British Columbia the opportunity to compete against other top teams from around the province in their age and ability category. BC Soccer has opened their application process to their member youth districts and or affiliated clubs looking to host a youth provincial cup and the opening of the hosting application process allows clubs and districts to apply to host a provincial cup in 2016 – 2020.

“Hosting a Provincial Cup is a great way for a district or club to showcase their facilities and help grow soccer within their community and we’ve been lucky enough to have some incredible hosts over the past few years,” said Don Dancey, BC Soccer Youth Competitions Committee Chair. “Youth players from all over the province look forward to competing at the provincial championships and we hope that youth districts and their affiliate clubs take advantage of this opportunity to showcase their facilities and apply to host an upcoming Provincial Cup.”

The BC Soccer Provincial Cup application process is open for three of the four youth Provincial Championships: Les Sinnott Memorial Boys Provincial Cup; Girls Provincial B Cup; and the Provincial A Cup.  Youth Districts and or their affiliated clubs must meet minimum standards to stage a Provincial Cup; however, BC Soccer recognizes that setting high standards could temporarily bar some districts or clubs from hosting a championship and therefore, the BC Soccer Competitions Committee wishes to work with such districts or clubs to spread championship venues across the province as much as possible.  Even those districts and clubs who may not fully meet all the requirements are encouraged to contact Dan Turvill, BC Soccer Competitions Coordinator at danturvill@bcsoccer.net

“It was a wonderful experience hosting the BC Soccer Girl’s Provincial B Championship in 2014 and the atmosphere in our club and around Chilliwack during the championships was incredible,” said Andrea Laycock Chilliwack FC.

Each year BC Soccer meets with all of the districts or clubs who were granted the provincial championships to host a Local Organizing Committee Workshop. The workshop is designed to help all involved parties plan and execute their provincial cup.
