BC Soccer is pleased to provide to the members an update on Candidates for the Board of Directors

Vancouver BC May 20 2016 - BC Soccer would like to advise the membership that further candidates have stated their intension to seek election at the 2016 BC Soccer Annual General Meeting.  The 2016 BC Soccer Candidates for the Board of Directors document has been updated to reflect this.

Should there be further individuals within the soccer community who wish to make their intensions known, BC Soccer requests they complete the BC Soccer Board Candidate Form and submit to the BC Soccer Office.  Should any more submissions be received prior to the AGM, BC Soccer will update the 2016 BC Soccer Candidates for the Board of Directors document, repost on this page and circulate to the membership each Friday leading up to the AGM.

The BC Soccer Nominations Committee would also like to remind the membership of the All Candidates Meeting scheduled for Wednesday May 25 in the BC Soccer offices commencing at 6:30pm.  This will provide the opportunity for the membership to speak to the individuals seeking election.

Vancouver BC May 13 2016 -  In preparation for the 2016 BC Soccer Annual General Meeting, BC Soccer is pleased to provide to the membership the 2016 Proposed Bylaw and Rule Amendments, along with the 2016 BC Soccer Candidates for the Board of Directors document.

2016 BC Soccer Proposed Bylaw and Rules Amendments

Reviewing and updating the BC Soccer Bylaws, Rules and Regulations continues to be a focus for BC Soccer.  These are guiding documents for the association and it is very important that they are aligned with that of Canada Soccer, the Provincial Government and support the membership. 

BC Soccer is pleased to put forward the 2016 Proposed Bylaw and Rule Amendments which reflects appropriate amendments to clean-up items to reflect current practice and includes recommendations from within the membership.  Based on this work, this year’s proposed amendments are being presented in the same manner as last year.

2016 BC Soccer Candidates for the Board of Directors

BC Soccer would like to make the membership aware that the following incumbent(s) have indicated they will be seeking election/re-election at the 2016 BC Soccer Annual General Meeting:

  • Kjeld Brodsgaard, President
  • Aiman El-Ramly, President
  • Chris Appleby, Vice President Finance
  • Rob Lennox, Vice President Youth
  • Chuck Bennett, Director
  • Don Dancey, Director
  • Carlos Grosso, Director
  • Ed Kennedy, Director

There is anticipated to be seven (7) positions open for election including the BC Soccer President and six other directors.  BC Soccer has compiled the following candidates' applications that have been received to date so the membership can compare the various candidates' qualifications, experience and visions for BC Soccer.  As a democratic organization, BC Soccer believes that it is important for the membership, to be able to exercise an informed vote.  All of the candidates' information that is presented to the membership is provided to further that goal.  However, consistent with past practice, an individual may be nominated directly from the floor at the Annual General Meeting. 

Both the 2016 Proposed Bylaw and Rule Amendments and the 2016 Candidates for the Board of Directors documents have been circulated to the membership and will be considered by the Full Members of BC Soccer at the 2016 BC Soccer Annual General Meeting.
