BC Soccer's Coastal Season Kicks Off following Labour Day Weekend

More than 87,000 British Columbian soccer players will kick off their 2015 -2016 season

Vancouver BC, September 1, 2015– The BC Soccer Coastal Season, kicks off in a weeks time as more than 70,000 youths and 17,000 adults will take to pitches across the lower mainland and Vancouver Island.  With the start of the coastal season right around the corner, the adult leagues and the youth soccer districts are already in full preparation mode.

“Kicking off the coastal soccer season is always an exciting and busy time for players, coaches, and volunteers,” says Roger Barnes, President of BC Soccer. “After an incredible and inspiring FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 this past summer, we know thousands of  players are excited to kickoff their season and on behalf of the BC Soccer board and staff, we want to wish them all the best for the upcoming season.”

There are more than 120,000 registered soccer players in British Columbia playing within both competitive and non-competitive soccer environments. The BC Soccer Coastal season runs from August 1st, with play beginning in early September, right through until spring. The Coastal season also hosts age divisions ranging from Under 6 to Over 45.  With opportunities for players of all levels and abilities to enjoy the game of soccer in British Columbia BC Soccer encourages everyone to register for a team and enjoy the beautiful game in 2015 / 16.
