West Vancouver Soccer Club President Bill Sparling and Claudia Sparling Awarded President’s Award at Sport BC’s Athlete of the Year Awards banquet
Vancouver BC, March 9, 2017 – BC Soccer congratulates Bill Sparling and Claudia Sparling of the West Vancouver Soccer Club who were presented with the President’s Award for soccer at the Sport BC Athlete of the Year Awards banquet at the Fairmont Waterfront Vancouver on March 8, 2017.
Each sport in BC nominates one person from among its membership who represents the spirit of volunteerism, and whose dedication, energy and commitment contribute to development of their sport or organization in the province of British Columbia.
“Bill and Claudia have dedicated hours to the soccer in West Vancouver and this dedication has allowed thousands of youth and adult players to enjoy the beautiful game week after week” said Kjeld Brodsgaard, BC Soccer President. “I was very proud to present the 2017 Presidents Award to Bill and Claudia who are tremendous representatives of the BC Soccer Community and I encourage all of those who see Bill and Claudia to thank them for their continued dedication and volunteerism.”
Along with Bill and Claudia Receiving the President’s Award, British Columbia’s Christine Sinclair also received the Best of BC Award for her local, national and international achievements in professional soccer. As a multiple Olympic Bronze medalist and Canada Soccer Women’s National Team Captain Christine Sinclair’s achievements in soccer are nothing short of incredible and she continues to be an incredible inspiration for girl’s and boy’s throughout British Columbia.

The annual Presidents' Awards are presented to volunteers from Sport BC member and partner organizations who represent the spirit of volunteerism, and whose dedication, energy and commitment contribute to development of their sport or organization in the province of British Columbia.
