Cowichan FC closing in on Province Cup final

Posted on May 2nd, 2015 by BC Soccer

It was the hand of fate. The random draw for soccer’s 2015 Province Cup was set in motion March 30 when Olympic-medallist and World Cup player Emily Zurrer of Crofton reached in to pick the slips. The competition is now down to the semifinal stage this weekend, with several Island teams remaining in the hunt in the men’s women’s, masters and Under-21 categories.

Jackson Cup champion Cowichan FC is attempting to become the first Island team to win the men’s Province Cup since Gorge FC captured four B.C. championships between 2001 and 2010. Cowichan FC crosses the strait today to play EDC Burnaby in the semifinals.
