Croatia Soccer Club take inaugural "Cross Boarder Challenge" 2-1 over South Sound FC

 

BC Soccer, would like to thank Washington State Adult Soccer Association and South Sound FC for thier  warm and kind hospitality at the inaugural Cross Boarder Challenge.

 BC Soccer hopes that this game is the beginning of many years of friendly cross-border competition, and they look forward to continuing to build on this relationship.

Good luck to both South Sound FC and Croatia SC at their respective “nationals” later this year!


 


Northwest Soccer Park in Bellingham will play host to match on August 16 at 2pm

Vancouver BC, August 14, 2014 –  BC Soccer and the Washington State Adult Soccer Association (WSASA) have come together to create the first ever Cross Boarder Challenge between the Men's British Columbia Soccer Association Adult Provincial Cup winners, Croatia Soccer Club and the Men's South Sound Football Club of the Evergreen Premeir League and the WSASA.

“We are pleased to announce that the winner of the BC Soccer Adult Provincial Cup will travel across the boarder to face a top tier team from Washington State Adult Soccer Association and we look forward to building on this match and continuing to strengthen our relationship with  our southern neighbors,” said Rob Brown, BC Soccer Board of Director.

In 2014 the Cross Boarder Challenge will be held at the Northwest Soccer Park in Bellingham on  August 16 at 2pm and admission to the match is free of cost.  BC Soccer and the Washington State Adult Soccer Association will look to learn from the pilot match to help build on their relationship moving forward giving players from both areas some great matches and more exciting opportunities. 

“This match is intended to strengthen our relationship between our respected assocations as North American Neighbors,” said Tim Busch, President of the WSASA. “ This is sure to be an incredible match and we would like to welcome all fans to come out and support both sides admission to the event is free.”

Developing partnerships with like- minded organizations is also one the objectives within BC Soccer’s Strategic plan and this match will bring both BC Soccer and WSASA closer together to help addvance soccer within the Province and Washinton State.
