EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League - Player Parent Update Evaluation and Assessment Magnuson Ford Mariner’s FC

Vancouver, BC: BC Soccer wishes to provide an update to the soccer community which relates to the High Performance pathway and playing opportunities for boys and girls in the Fraser Valley specifically relating to 2001 Evaluation and Assessments being conducted by Magnuson Ford Mariner’s FC.

The BC Soccer High Performance League Advisory Committee, an advisory Committee to the BC Soccer Development Committee and with oversight responsibilities for the EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League, is committed to ensuring a sustainable inclusive franchise that will provide a High Performance pathway and playing opportunities for boys and girls in the Fraser Valley.

In December 2012 the BC Soccer HPL Advisory Committee stated it will work with the current BCSPL franchise, Magnuson Ford Mariners FC, their partner clubs, and other potential clubs that cover the Fraser Valley region with a view to creating an even stronger, more collaborative and representative group to provide a sustainable High Performance pathway and playing opportunities for boys and girls in the Fraser Valley.

In keeping with that commitment, the overall process to establish an even stronger program and serving the players needs and interest, the current franchise within the EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League Magnuson Ford Mariners FC are currently conducting evaluation and assessments of the male and female 2001 born age group.

The objective of this process is to meet the requirements of the franchise as it relates to the 2001 age group and to select a squad of players to participate in recognised programming, which includes spring and summer programming leading up to the official EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League September to November U13 intake preparation season.

Official league play in the EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League for the U13 group will begin in February 2014.

As stated there will be a new and more collaborative Fraser Valley entity created prior to the 2014 EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League season and these players will form the foundation of the U13 age group within the league which would represent the Fraser Valley region.

Therefore players are encouraged to attend the official league sanctioned evaluation and assessment process conducted by Magnuson Ford Mariners FC.

The decision to accept an official invitation from Magnuson Ford Mariners FC to join the program will remain with the parents and their interests and their support of their son’s or daughter’s aspirations to enter the high performance stream of play within British Columbia.
