Vancouver BC, October 25, 2016 – BC Soccer is pleased to update the membership and wider soccer community that more than 40 affiliated soccer clubs from across the province have submitted their letter of intent to opt into BC Soccer's club charter club.

“We are very pleased to see that more than 40 soccer clubs having already submitted their letter of intent to opt into this program and we look forward to working with those clubs to help them meet all of the criteria outlined,” said Chris Cerroni, BC Soccer Director of Soccer Development. “We also want to encourage every club who hasn’t submitted opted in yet to join, or, if they have more questions about the program to reach out to BC Soccer via Paul Turner, BC Soccer Grassroots Officer.”

Over the next few months, BC Soccer will be working with all of the soccer clubs that have opted in to help assist them in meeting all of the outlined criteria.  Once the criteria have been met the clubs will be awarded status within the program at the Standard One level. Furthermore, BC Soccer has contacted all of the clubs that are not involved yet, to arrange a club visit and answer any questions the club may have about the program.

Standard One of the Club Charter Program has been purposely designed to be achievable by all BC Soccer members and their affiliate clubs, regardless of their size or location across the province.  The Program’s criteria is based on three top line categories being, Technical, Governance, and Administration.

The Club Charter program is open to all BC Soccer full members and their affiliate soccer clubs.  It has been designed to enable these organizations to be recognized and, more importantly, receive support and added service from BC Soccer regardless of the club’s size and location within BC.
