Nine Teams Representing British Columbia Head to Canada Soccer National Club Championships

Coastal FC hosts U18 National Club Championships October 8-13

Vancouver BC, October 7, 2014 – Nine soccer teams from British Columbia are gearing up for the Canada Soccer National Championships which will take place in various locations across the country October 8-13, 2014. There are five Canada Soccer National Championships taking place including the U14 Cup in Charlottetown PEI, U16 Cup in Mt. Pearl Newfoundland, U18 Cup in Surrey British Columbia as well as the women’s Jubilee Trophy and men’s Challenge Trophy competitions which are both taking place in Vaughan, Ontario.

“It is a huge honour to compete in the national club championships and the nine teams from BC have worked incredibly hard all season long to get this opportunity and I want to congratulate them on all their successes thus far,” said Roger Barnes, President of BC Soccer. “Coastal FC has done an incredible job organizing the U18 event so far and I wanted to thank them for their time and commitment and wish them the best of luck in the competition.”

 Coastal FC will be representing British Columbia in the U14 boy’s division as well as the U18 girl’s division with Fraser Valley FC representing BC in the U14 girl’s division and Coquitlam Metro-Ford in the U16 boy’s division.  Mountain United teams will be competing in both the U16 girl’s division as well as joining hosts Surrey United in the U18 boy’s competition.  Representing BC and competing for the Women’s Jubilee Cup for the 11 straight year is Surrey United while Croatia SC will be competing for the men’s Challenge Cup.

“Croatia SC  had an incredible run in the BC Soccer Provincial Cup and we are really looking to continue that success in Vaughn, Ontario at the Challenge Cup, “said Andy Sulentic, Croatia SC Manager. “I also wanted to wish all of the other BC representatives the best this week and I look forward watching and hearing about to some great matches.”
