Pinnacles FC, Nelson Youth Soccer Association, 100 Mile House Soccer Association and Coastal FC Host the BC Soccer Youth Provincial Cups

The best grassroots youth soccer teams from across the province will take to pitches in 100 Mile House, Nelson, Surrey and Penticton on July 9-12 to compete for three of BC Soccer’s Youth Provincial Championships.

Vancouver BC July 6, 2015 – Coastal FC play host to the Youth Provincial A Cup, 100 Mile House Soccer Association will host the Les Sinnott Memorial Boys Provincial Cup (U13-U15), Nelson Youth Soccer Association will host the Youth Girls Provincial B Cup (U13-U15) and Pinnacles FC will host both the Les Sinnott Memorial Boys Provincial Cup and the Youth Girls Provincial B Cup (U16-U18).

“This is a very exciting time for youth soccer with many of these teams training all season long for this competition and I wanted to extend a congratulations to all of the teams for making it to the BC Soccer Provincial Championships,” said Roger Barnes President of BC Soccer. “I also want to thank all of the hosts and their volunteers for the hours of work they have put into these competitions.”

“We’re really looking forward to watching these young players compete and we are certain there are going to be some fantastic matches,” said Don Dancey, BC Soccer Youth Competitions Committee Chair. “It’s a huge accomplishment just to make it to the Provincial Championships and no matter the results from the weekend, each and every player should be very proud of their accomplishments.”

Provincial A Cup matches begin on Thursday July 9 and will run right through until the finals on Sunday July 12. South Surrey Athletic Park will not only hold matches throughout each day but they will also play host to the BC Soccer Referee Instructor and Assessor Symposium which is run in conjunction to the BC Soccer Provincial A Cup.  For more information on BC Soccer’s Referee Instructor and Assessor Symposium, see HERE.

The Girls Provincial B Cup will be held at two different locations this year with the U13-U15 competition being hosted by Nelson Youth Soccer Association at Lakeside Playing fields with the U16-U18 competitions being hosted by Pinnacles FC at multiple fields in Penticton (please CLICK HERE for a field list). Girls teams from Vancouver Island, the interior and the lower mainland will all be playing for the Provincial Girls B Cup trophies.  Matches begin on Thursday and will continue right through until the finals on Sunday. “The Girl’s Provincial B Cup is always an exciting competition especially with the large number of teams that compete in it,” said Dan Turvill, BC Soccer Competitions Coordinator. “Both of the hosts have put in hours of time to help organize and plan this event and we can’t thank them and their volunteers enough for all of their work.”

The Les Sinnott Memorial Provincial Cup will also be held at two separate locations with 100 Mile House hosting the U13 - U15 boys matches and Pinnacles FC hosting the U16 - U18 matches. Teams from across the province will be competing within their respected age division all with the goal of hoisting the Les Sinnott Memorial Cup trophy.  Matches will begin on Thursday and will run right through until Sunday.
