Provincial Development Program Players Return From The U-13 & U-14 Regional Championships

After incredible performances 38 British Columbia PDP players are selected for the All-Stars Games

Vancouver, BC, July 30, 2013 – Players from the U-13 & U-14 Provincial Development Program went head to head with Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba players at the Regional Championships this past weekend in Calgary, Alberta. The Regional Championships consists of every provincial team within their age division facing off against each other with a final All-Star game to finish off the week.

The Regional Championships offer players one of the best opportunities to be scouted by National Team scouts. As part of this event the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) selected players to participate in the All-Star game which took place on the final day of the event.

“The performances that each of our four teams put in was at a very high standard which is a reflection of the coaching standards and player contributions,” said Rob Csabai, Programs Coach and Manager of Coaching Development. “The number of our players who were selected for the All-Star Games shows the quality of soccer these young players showed. We truly couldn’t be happier with the maturity and discipline these players showed on and off field and we are very excited to help these youths grow as soccer players.”

There were 38 players from the Provincial Development Program; 12 players from the U-13 Girls, 10 from the U-13 Boys, seven from the U-14 Girls, and nine from the U-14 Boys that were selected for the All-star game.

“There were some amazing matches played over the week and our teams played exceptional well,” said Markus Reinkens, Programs Coach and Manager of Soccer Science. “It was a privilege to coach the U-13 girls over the weekend, who not only went undefeated but who also raised funds on their own for the Red Cross Flood Relief Fund.”
