Seasons Greetings from BC Soccer

From all of us at BC Soccer, we wish you and yours a peaceful and joyous holiday season!

With 2019 nearly upon us, we thought it might be nice to offer some BC Soccer inspired New Year’s Resolutions:

  1. Join the game; play, coach, referee, volunteer.  If you already do those things, perhaps take a course or a clinic and update your skills!  Even if you’ve never kicked a ball before, there are programs available. www.bcsoccer.net
  1. It’s a Women’s World Cup year!  Our Canadians are off to France in June…a perfect opportunity for you to host or join one of the many viewing parties as Canada attempts to win a first ever World Cup.
  1. Take in a some of the best adult amateur soccer in the country right here in BC.  You’ll find links to Metro Women’s Soccer League, Vancouver Metro Soccer League, Fraser Valley Soccer League, Vancouver Island Soccer League, Lower Island Women’s Soccer League -> https://bcsoccer.net/directory-membership
  1. Take a road trip to our Provincial Capital and experience a Pacific FC match in the new Canadian Premier League.  Based out of Westhills Stadium in Langford, PFC will represent Vancouver Island when the league kicks off its inaugural season in late April 2019.
  1. Support Canada at BC Place on March 24th when our Men’s National team take on French Guiana in Nations League Qualifying.  Under John Herdman, the reds are undefeated.  Let’s show the rest of the country how BC supports its national teams.
  1. Get behind those Whitecaps!  They have a new coach, a new direction, and there will be many new players when MLS kicks off in March.  It’s also the 40th season since Soccer Bowl ’79, which may inspire the new kit!

The BC Soccer office will close at the end of day on Friday December 21, 2018 and remain closed until Wednesday January 2, 2019. Staff will be monitoring e-mails during this time and responding to priority ones.

Happy Holidays!
