Six Teams are headed to Canada Soccer Club National Championships as the BC Soccer Provincial Premier Cup Champions are Crowned

Surrey United, Coastal FC, Mountain United FC, Coquitlam Metro Ford and Premier Cup hosts Fraser Valley FC will all represent BC Soccer at the National Championships

Vancouver BC, July 2 2014 – Fraser Valley FC played host to the boys and girls BC Soccer Provincial Premier Cup this past weekend at McLeod Athletic Park in Langley.  Ten boys teams took the field on Saturday with the ten girls teams competing in five matches on Sunday.

Fraser Valley FC did an absolutely incredible job hosting the BC Soccer Provincial Premier Cup and we thank all of the volunteers that dedicated their time to make it such a great weekend of soccer,” said Don Dancey, Chair of BC Soccer Youth Competitions Committee. “There were some incredible matches on both days and all of the teams who competed should be extremely proud of their performances.”

The winning teams from the U14, U16 and U18 divisions will all represent BC Soccer at the Canada Soccer Club National Championships in October of 2014. On Saturday Surrey United boys were crowned champions in the U13, U15 and U18 divisions with Coastal FC boys taking the U14 division and Coquitlam Metro-Ford boys taking the U16 division boys.  On Sunday five separate girls clubs were crowned champions with Coquitlam Metro-Ford winning the U13 Division, Fraser Valley FC winning the U14 division, Vancouver Island Wave winning the U15 Division, Mountain United FC winning the U16 division and Coastal FC winning the U18 Division.

Our Premier Provincial Cup local organizing Committee worked extremely hard to make this event a success and our partner clubs really stepped up to provide volunteers as well,” said Andrea Laycock, Committee Chair. “We also couldn’t be more excited for the U14 Fraser Valley FC girls team who won an exciting match and will now represent BC in Prince Edward Island in October.”

BC Soccer would also like to thank Soccer Express for donating $500 dollars in gift certificates that were awarded to each of the game’s Most Valuable Player’s.  After each of the ten BC Soccer Provincial Premier Cup matches a MVP was selected by a member of the BC Soccer coaching staff or a BC Soccer Provincial Development Program coach and presented with the certificate.

“It was an amazing weekend of soccer and there were some extremely close matches,” said Matt Holbrook, Manager of the BC Soccer Premier League. “ The competition ran very smoothly and I want to wish all of the teams headed to the National Championships the best of luck.”

The Canada Soccer Club nationals will take place October 8-13 2014 in locations across Canada.  The U14 winners, Coastal FC Boys and Fraser Valley FC Girls will head to Charlottetown Prince Edward Island.
