Six Teams Qualify For National Club Championships as BC Soccer Provincial Premier Cup Finals Conclude

Mountain United FC, Coquitlam Metro Ford SC, Fraser Valley Premier and Surrey United teams will represent BC in the Canadian Soccer Association’s National Club Championships

Vancouver BC, June 27, 2016 – 20 EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League Teams took to the field last weekend as the BC Soccer Provincial Premier Cup took place in Kelowna.  Thompson Okanagan FC hosted the two day event which turned out to be a memorable weekend of soccer.  Six teams from four separate clubs earned berths into the Canadian Soccer Association Sport Chek National Club Championships and ten teams took home provincial championship trophies.

The boys took to the field on Saturday with matches beginning at 11:00am while the girl’s teams played on Sunday.  The winning team, in both boys and girls competitions, from the U14, U16, and U18 Division will represent BC at the National Club Championships. Taking place from October 5-10th: Moncton, NB will host the U14 age group; Lethbridge, AB hosts the U16’s; and Vaughan, ON will welcome the U18’s.

“All the teams that competed left it all on the field and there were some amazing individual and team performances” said Don Dancey, BC Soccer Chair Youth Competitions Committee. “Thompson Okanagan FC were wonderful hosts of the matches and I want to wish good luck to all of the teams who will be representing BC at the National Club Championships.”

British Columbia’s top youth teams reside in the EA Sports Premier League and this weekend was no exception to the top quality soccer these teams play on a weekly basis. The final results from the BC Soccer Provincial Premier Cup are below:
