The eight clubs of the BCSPL gear up for the start of the fourth season

Vancouver BC February 19 2015 - BC Soccer’s High Performance league, the EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League, is gearing up for their fourth season which kicks off this weekend.   BCSPL players will take to the field this weekend with future hopes of advancing along the player pathway to BC Soccer High Performance Programs, Vancouver Whitecaps FC programming and Canada Soccer national team programming.

“This is an exciting time for High Performance soccer in British Columbia as Phase 1 of the BCSPL kicks off,” said Carlos Grosso, BC Soccer Board of Director and High Performance Committee Chair. “All teams and players have been training hard for the past couple weeks during the pre-season and we are really looking forward to watching some incredible matches and some of British Columbia’s top youth players take the pitch this weekend.”

“The BCSPL was founded on the principles of a development focused , regionally distributed and concentrated, community club model,” said Alex Barnetson, BCSPL President. “The BCSPL has successfully created a clear player pathway, enhanced cooperation and raised standards amongst participating clubs all while enhancing competition and contributing to an increase in the number players moving on to the next level.  It is my privilege, as newly elected president of the BCSPL, to work with all stakeholders and continue to build and grow the league and the game.”
