Three more clubs achieve Standard 1 of the BC Soccer Club Charter Program: Preston GM Langley Football Club, North Vancouver Football Club, and BC Tigers Football Club

Vancouver BC, March 16 2018 – BC Soccer is pleased to announce that three more soccer clubs, Preston GM Langley Football Club (LFC), North Vancouver Football Club (NVFC) and BC Tigers Football Club (BCTFC), have achieved standard 1 of the BC Soccer Club Charter Program over the last four weeks. The program is based on meeting Administrative, Technical, and Governance criteria. The criteria and the program were created to help assure players, parents, coaches, and administrators that their club is operating and meeting a set of on and off-field standards.  

“It is amazing to see so many clubs working hard to achieve the BC Soccer Club Charter Program and I want to thank North Vancouver FC, Preston GM Langley FC, and BC Tigers FC and their staff and volunteers for all of the hard work they put in to achieve the standard,” said Kjeld Brodsgaard BC Soccer President.”

Preston GM Langley Football Club was founded in 1999, offering U4-U18 soccer programming. The club is committed to producing not only talented soccer players but upstanding citizens as well. "Our club is proud to have achieved BC Soccer’s Club Charter Standard One status,” said Amy Read, LFC President, “BC Soccer’s mandate includes holding the province’s soccer clubs to a set of standards, and Preston GM Langley FC is committed to meeting or exceeding those standards.  We have always endeavoured to achieve the highest standards to improve our player experience and were delighted to work alongside BC Soccer to achieve our Club Charter.”

In 2010 with the amalgamation of the Lions Gate, Lynn Valley and Mount Seymour Soccer Clubs, North Vancouver Football Club was formed. The club is made up of more than 3600 youth players and over 70 adult players and stands by their mission to develop human potential through soccer. “North Vancouver FC is proud to be granted the BC Soccer Club Charter Program Standard One status,” said NVFC President Stuart Ince. “This achievement recognizes NVFC’s commitment to providing the very best experience for our members.”

BC Tigers Football Club is a youth and adult club that operates in the Newton, Central City, Guildford, Fleetwood and North Delta areas, based out of Surrey British Columbia and is a member of the South Fraser District Soccer Association, Vancouver Metro Soccer League, Fraser Valley Soccer League, and the Metro Women’s Soccer League. “BCTFC is quite honored to have received BC Soccer’s Club Charter Standard one certificate, the highest standard of achievement,” said BC Tigers Technical Director Patrick Prele. “We would like to thank the BC Soccer staff for their guidance during this process. We pride ourselves in developing a player’s full potential and passion for “the beautiful game”.  Our philosophy is “Soccer for Life and enjoyment of the game.”

Canada Soccer Club License Program & BC Soccer Club Charter Program

Canada Soccer has confirmed to BC Soccer that BC Soccer Club Charter Standard 1 clubs will be positioning accordingly within the new Canada Soccer Club Licensing Program once released. Thus, Canada Soccer wants all BC clubs to become BC Soccer Club Charter Standard 1 club and BC Soccer looks forward to continuing to work with all clubs to achieve the BC Soccer Club Charter 1.
