Three Women's Teams Crowned BC Soccer Provincial Champions

North Shore Girls SC Hearts, Coquitlam Metro Ford SC, and Richmond FC were crowned provincial cup champions!

Vancouver BC, May 15, 2016 – BC Soccer crowned three adult women soccer teams Provincial Champions today.  The three Women’s Provincial Cup matches took place on Sunday May 15, at Westhills Stadium in Langford.

“The BC Soccer Women’s Provincial Championships went very well and there were some incredible matchups,” said Kjeld Brodsgaard , First Vice President of BC Soccer.  “I want to congratulate all of the teams who were competing today and I also wanted to wish those who will be moving on to the Canada Soccer Club Nationals, Good Luck!”

The Women’s Championships kicked off on Sunday following the Men’s championships which took place on Saturday May 14.

The Leeta Sokalski Cup (Women’s B Cup) was a close match between North Shore Girls SC Hearts vs Damesh United. The MVP for the match was Alexandra Thompson who played a key role North Shore Hearts 2-1 (PK’s) victory.

The Women’s Classic Provincial Cup (Women’s 35+) featured Coastal FC Supra were defeated by Coquitlam Metro Ford 3-0.  The MVP for the match was Megan Baker who put on an impressive performance and was key to the match’s result. Coquitlam Metro Ford Will now move onto the Canada Soccer Club Nationals in October of this year.

The Women’s A Cup featured the North Shore Renegades vs Richmond FC. The MVP from the match was Jenna Richardson whose outstanding performance and two goals led Richmond victory.   Richmond FC will now move on to the Canada Soccer Club Nationals in October of this year.
