Vince Greco Honored with 2015 Sport BC's President Award for Soccer

Vancouver Island Soccer League President receives President Award at Sport BC’s Athlete of the Year Awards banquet

Vancouver BC, March 13, 2015 – Vince Greco, President of the Vancouver Island Soccer League (VISL), was presented with the Presidents Award for soccer at the Sport BC Athlete of the Year Awards banquet at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver on March 12, 2015.

Each sport in BC nominates one person from among its membership who represents the spirit of volunteerism, and whose dedication, energy and commitment contribute to development of their sport or organization in the province of British Columbia.

“Vince is BC Soccer's choice this year, for his work with VISL, Island soccer in general, and for BC Soccer through the Competitions and Judicial Committees and Provincial Cup hosting” said Roger Barnes, BC Soccer President. “This is truly deserved, and I was proud to present the 2015 Presidents Award to Vince. Vince is a tremendous representative of the thousands of volunteers who make soccer in BC thrive”.

“Vince has been the President of the Vancouver Island Soccer League for more than five years, putting in countless hours to help develop and better the game of soccer.” said Kjeld Brodsgaard, BC Soccer 1st Vice President and Past President of the VISL.  “BC Soccer would like thank him for the incredible work he has done and would like to congratulate him on receiving the President’s Award for soccer.” added Brodsgaard.

The annual Presidents' Awards are presented to volunteers from Sport BC member and partner organizations who represent the spirit of volunteerism, and whose dedication, energy and commitment contribute to development of their sport or organization in the province of British Columbia.
