BC Soccer Development Leads attend FIFA and Canada Soccer Women-Focused Coach Development Workshop

FIFA and Canada Soccer joined together for a ‘FIFA Coach Educators Development Pathway Workshop’, tailored specifically for Female Coaches! Held from April 8th to April 12th, the five-day workshop brought participants from eight Canadian provinces to Vaughan, Ontario, for immersive training. Led by Women Master Coach developers and backed by FIFA's Coach Education and Women's Football Departments that included representatives from Concacaf and the Coaching Association of Canada.  

In consultation with Canada Soccer, Yasamin Alipour, the Player Development Coordinator for BC Soccer and Sue Herring, BC Soccer’s Learning Facilitator were both selected to represent British Columbia at the workshop.

Since 2021 BC Soccer has supported female coaches obtaining the ‘C’ Diploma through the Coach Mentorship Program, the learnings and experiences gained by Yasamin and Sue will further support this commitment to female coach education as well as inspire females leading females with the new format of the ‘C’ Diploma being delivered in 2024 and beyond.
