BC Soccer Governance Modernization Process – Expanded Consultation Survey

Governance Modernization initiative expands consultation to all soccer organizations operating programs in BC

BC Soccer is committed to develop a robust ecosystem, connecting all levels of the game and paving the way for participants to thrive and reach their full potential. BC Soccer has recently engaged Capitis Consulting to assist in establishing ways in which the governance of soccer in BC can be improved and ideally modernized to allow soccer to flourish in 2025 and beyond.

Following announcement on March 20th of the initiative to modernize soccer structure in British Columbia, governing bodies, partners and stakeholder groups have been contacted and invited to share their input. Member Organizations have been invited to participate in 1:1 interviews currently underway. To build effective recommendations, expanded consultation will engage all key stakeholders operating soccer programs in BC. These organizations deliver soccer every day at community level across the whole province.

BC Soccer is inviting affiliated clubs, associate members and leagues to complete a survey on behalf of each organization. One response per organization is solicited.

Survey can be accessed here: BC Soccer Governance Survey, May 2025

Survey closes on Friday 6th June 2025.

The survey will gather quantitative data on what is working and not working and what needs to be changed, created or removed. BC Soccer is seeking all perspectives to build a system that can support organizations being as effective as possible in their operation of soccer programs.

The results will form the basis of any potential changes and results will be used in validating why any proposed change is needed. The expanded consultation process will further include participants at Town halls scheduled for later this year.
