BC Soccer is seeking candidates for the Board of Directors

Are you keen to make a difference in amateur sport in BC? A fan of soccer? Looking for volunteer leadership opportunities in your community? If yes, BC Soccer is looking for you!

BC Soccer is the largest provincial sports organization (PSO) in BC and the third largest soccer-specific PSO in Canada. We serve over 150,000 participants from all corners of the province, consisting of registered players, coaches, referees, administrators and soccer leaders.

The BC Soccer Board of Directors is actively seeking three (3) candidates (out of a total of 12 directors) with diverse personal and professional qualifications, experience, and backgrounds to serve a three-year term with the BC Soccer Board of Directors. While soccer knowledge or experience is helpful, it is not necessary to be a successful Board member. We encourage individuals with expertise in various fields to apply, such as:

• finance,
• governance,
• human resources,
• law,
• commercial strategy / sponsorship,
• safe sport,
• mental health / social work,
• and more.

BC Soccer strives to uphold the standards of the Canadian Sport Governance Code, seeking a limit of no more than 60% of one specific gender. In addition to strengthening the competencies of the Board overall, we seek to build a Board representative of our membership base in terms of diversity, geographically and otherwise. We strongly encourage people who live in all corners of the province of BC to apply, particularly Northern BC, the Interior, and the Kootenays.
