BC Soccer receives viaSport “Accredited” designation status for 2025-26

BC Soccer receives the highest category within the ViaSport Designation Program, reflecting the association's commitment to meeting standards established to support the sporting community in British Columbia.

ViaSport collaborates with many amateur sport organizations to elevate and expand the reach of amateur sport, with the goal of creating greater impact. As the lead agency, viaSport stewards the Government’s investment in amateur sport by setting standards, providing resources and monitoring compliance. By receiving and upholding a viaSport designation, BC Soccer remains accountable to these standards on an annual basis.

Obtaining the Accredited status has many benefits for BC Soccer, including eligibility for annual funding from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, leading to a better soccer experience for everyone in BC.

“Maintaining the highest level of recognition from viaSport BC reaffirms BC Soccer’s commitment to excellence, accountability, and inclusive sport development across the province,” says Gabriel Assis, BC Soccer Chief Executive Officer.  “As an “Accredited” organization, we are proud to align with provincial sport standards and to be recognized as a leader in fostering a positive, values-driven environment for participants at every level of the game. This achievement reflects the strong leadership of our Board and the dedication of our talented staff, whose collective efforts continue to drive our mission forward.”

ViaSport accredited organizations are a sport or sports discipline’s authoritative body, operating in at least five regions in BC, and with responsibility for oversight, growth, and development. As the lead agency, viaSport stewards the Government’s investment in amateur sport by setting standards, providing resources and monitoring compliance.
