Celebrating the FIFA World Cup 2026 with 32 community-led events across BC!

32 community-led celebrations will bring the FIFA World Cup 2026™ experience to every region of B.C.

BC Soccer is proud to celebrate the power of soccer to connect communities as soccer organizations will join forces with municipalities, First Nations, and local partners to deliver community-led celebrations during the FIFA World Cup 2026™, hosted in part in Vancouver.

Supported by the Province of British Columbia through the “2026 Community Event Support Fund”, these events will bring the excitement of the world’s game to communities across the province, creating welcoming, inclusive spaces where people can come together to celebrate sport, culture, and community pride.

From June 11 to July 19, 2026, soccer-themed celebrations and live public match viewings will take place in 32 communities, delivering a combined total of 333 event days and reaching an estimated one million participants and spectators throughout British Columbia.

“We are grateful to the Province of British Columbia and the municipalities for their support and commitment. BC is home to a vibrant and active soccer community that deserves to be celebrated!  Our game brings people together, and these Community Celebrations reflect the very heart of our participants.” said Gabriel Assis, BC Soccer Chief Executive Officer. “As part of our BC Soccer World Cup Action Plan, we are committed to strengthening partnerships, supporting the reach of the World Cup across the province.”

Community Celebrations are well aligned with BC Soccer’s World Cup Action Plan, with events expanding visibility of the sport, strengthening relationships and by celebrating the soccer community in BC.

In celebration of the FIFA World Cup 2026™, the Province of British Columbia has invested $1.7 million to support 32 communities in hosting local events that showcase the unifying power of sport.

Events range from single-day soccer-themed community gatherings to large, multi-day live public viewing festivals, ensuring people throughout B.C. have opportunities to experience the FIFA World Cup close to home.

BC Soccer is proud to work alongside its members and partners to help ensure the FIFA World Cup 2026™ leaves a legacy of participation, inclusion, and collaboration across British Columbia.
