Open Call for Expression of Interest to serve on BC Soccer Committees

BC Soccer is inviting eligible individuals to submit Expression of Interest to potentially serve on a BC Soccer Standing or Operational Committee

As a professional not-for-profit society and a member of Canada Soccer, BC Soccer is committed to providing the widest opportunities for existing and potential participants, as well as provide support in the most effective and appropriate way for current players, parents, volunteers, affiliated clubs, leagues, members, and districts.

In our ongoing efforts to continually improve, in 2022 we conducted a thorough Operational Effectiveness Review which led to various recommendations for the association to consider and work towards. Some of these recommendations included ways to improve our committee work. These recommendations included merging committees, providing clarity between the Standing and Operational Committees, lengthening the committee member terms for more than one year, and facilitating an open call for interest to the wider community.

We are pleased to have implemented some of the changes through bylaw amendments at the 2022 Annual General Meeting and are even more pleased to be completing the remaining recommendations by having an open call for an expression of interest and moving the committee member term lengths to three years!

Over the last number of years, numerous individuals from the soccer community have served as committee community members and have contributed greatly to the insightful discussions around various committee topics. We see these enhancements to the committee activity as positive, allowing for anyone to express interest to participate on a committee, and those that do join are able to have a deeper understanding of the work and to be able to contribute over a longer period.

To submit your expression of interest, please complete out our Committees Application Form.

For 2022-25 BC Soccer is pleased to have three Standing Committees that provide insight and guidance directly into the Board of Directors, two of which are open for expression of interests, and two Operational Committees that provide support and insight into the Staff Team.
