Provincial Glory: BC Soccer Crowns 2025 Adult Provincial Cup Winners

The 2025 BC Soccer Adult Provincial Championship wrapped up last weekend at Minoru Park in Richmond, BC, highlighting the province’s top amateur soccer talent over two action-packed days, as champions were crowned across nine divisions.

The competition featured finals in the Men’s and Women’s A and B Cups, Masters A & B Cups, and the Men's Over-45 division.

Men's Over 45 Cup Final: PCOV vs Croatia SC Vatreni

Croatia grab the lead after just 25 minutes and in a tightly contested match, PCOV were able to grab an equalizer the 65th minute. The match would end all square and penalties were required to declare a winner. Croatia would need just four kicks to secure victory. 

Result: PCOV 1-1 Croatia SC Vatreni (1-4 on PKs) 

 

Women's Masters B-Cup Final: Nanaimo United vs PCOV 

All of the scoring in this one came early on. it was 1-1 by the 32nd minute and that lead to a penalty shoot out. Nanaimo started strong, going three-for-three from the spot, but then would go on to miss two in a row, handing PCOV the win. 

Result: PCOV 1-1 Nanaimo United (4-3 on PKs)

 

Men's Masters B-Cup Final: NVFC Norvan vs Nanaimo United 

The first half was characterized by cautious play, as both teams focused on assessing each other’s tactics and strengths. Then, in the second half, this match exploded with action. NVFC took the lead in the 51st minute, just for Nanaimo to equalize three minutes later. Nanaimo kept the pressure on and after a great save from Grant Mckenzie in goal, Nanaimo found the go-ahead goal from Daragh Fitzgerald.

Result: Nanaimo United 2-1 NVFC Norvan

 

Women's Master's A-Cup Final: Gorge FC vs Port Moody Gunners 

It took Gorge FC just 10-minutes to find the lead through Mallory Hacket, and they wouldn't look back. In a dominating performance, Gorge FC would go on to win big, thanks to 5-goals from Hackett.

Result: Gorge FC 7-0 Port Moody Gunners 

 

Deryl Hughes Men's Master's A-Cup Finals: Port Moody SC Rangers vs SFC Pegasus 

This match had it all. Port Moody opened the scoring just 11 minutes into the match after Andy Singh made two incredible saves in the Pegasus goal. Just before halftime, Port Moody would see red and be forced to play the entire second half with 10-men. Thanks to a stellar performance in goal by Srdjan Djekanovic, Port Moody were able to hold on despite a feisty finish that saw three more red cards. 

Result: Port Moody SC Rangers 1-0 Surrey FC Pegasus

 

Leeta Sokalski Women's B-Cup Final: Comox United vs SFC Pegasus 

This match looked destined to be a Comox Victory. They score shortly after halftime and would hold onto that lead well into stoppage time. That is, until Pegasus drew level in the 90+5 minute. Then, in the shootout, Pegasus would be perfect from the spot and go on to win 4-2.

 

Result: SFC Pegasus 1-1 Comox United (4-2 on PKs)

 

Keith Millar Men's B-Cup Final: Gastown Astro FC vs Fusion FC 

Gastown broke out to an early lead just nine minutes into the match, but Fusion would equalize just before halftime. Gastown would once again pull ahead in the 73rd minute, thinking they would be victorious. Fusion would go on to score two goals in 3 minutes and ultimately hold on to survive. 

Result: Fusion FC 3-2 Gastown Astro FC

 

Women's A-Cup Final: Gorge FC Team Sales vs Coastal FC Premier 

Gorge were leading 2-1 for most of the match, until Coastal scored in the 82nd minute to tie it up. The tie only lasted for two minutes until Gorge's Liz Gregg blasted home a free kick to regain the lead. Coastal's Scarlett McNeeley would then score in the 90+3rd minute to level the game once again. This match ultimately go to Penalty Kicks where Gorge would finally hold on.

 

Result: Gorge FC Team Sales 3-3 Coastal FC Premier (4-2 on PKs) 

 

Men's A-Cup Final: Port Moody SC Premier vs BB5 United CCB

A true David vs Goliath-type match up. BB5 were heavy favorites before kick off and showed why early on. They would dominate possession, until Port Moody's Quintin Desaulniers would score a rocket from distance. That lead wouldn't last long because BB5's Nick Soolsma would score a Penalty Kick just two minutes later. Daniel Hobson would give Port Moody another lead in the 46th minute, right at the start of the second half. With BB5 pushing for the equalizer, Port Moody's goalkeeper, Trevor Schneider, would be called upon time and time again. Then, in the dying minutes of the match, Schneider would make an unbelievable save with his top hand to push the ball onto the post and preserve the lead. 

 

Result: Port Moody SC Premier 2-1 BB5 United CCB
