Provincial Premier Cup Finals Preview

The time has come, the winners of the 2025 Youth Provincial Premier Cup will be crowned this weekend, Saturday June 21st at South Surrey Athletic Park.

The BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL), which is the highest level of amateur youth soccer in BC, concluded its regular season at the end of May. Four teams were named regular season champions in both the boys and the girls divisions. But now, the chance to lift the Provincial Premier Cup has arrived.

In its 14th season, the BCSPL is showing great improvements in standard of play across the board. All divisions are close and competitive with only two #1 seeds reaching the cup finals.

“Player, coach, and referee development in the BCSPL is the foundation of the league” says Sian Bagshawe, BCSPL General Manager. “It is a testament to the level of competition amongst teams and clubs to have so many different teams reach the Premier Cup Finals outside of regular season league champions. This opportunity provides more teams and players the chance to experience this type of competition as a pinnacle event to end their season.”

In the U-15 and U-17 age groups for both the Girls’ and Boys’ divisions, teams are competing for the chance to represent BC at the Player Development Program (PDP) Championships from August 27-31 in Vaughan, ON.

Of the eight (8) PDP berths available, only five (5) are confirmed ahead of the Provincial Premier Cup Finals. In other words, it all comes down to Saturday.

Burnaby FC are the 5th team to secure their spot in the PDP Championships because Van Isle Wave won the U-17 Boys’ division and reached the Final. Since no other #1 seed reached the Final in the U-15 Boys’ and Girls’ divisions and U-17 Girls’ division, both teams competing in the final have a chance at qualifying, with the winning team being BC’s second representative in the respective age groups.
