As we conclude the Semi-Final stage of the 2024 Adult Provincial Championships that took place this past weekend, the stage is set for the 2024 BC Soccer Adult Provincial Championship Finals to be held in Vancouver Island.

"This year’s Adult Provincial Championships takes us back to Vancouver Island, which is exciting on its own, but also, we have seen an increase in participation year-over-year with seven Adult Leagues, 98 Teams and over 2,750 players. April was a true showcase of the Women’s and Men’s Adult Leagues in British Columbia," PJ Aucoin, Competition Manager at BC Soccer.

The BC Soccer Adult Provincial Championships have long been a part of the history and soccer culture throughout the province. With five divisions that include the ‘Masters A and B’ for ‘Men over 35’ and ‘Women over 30’, as well as ‘Adult Provincial A and B Cup’ divisions for open age groups, and the ‘Over 45's/Over 40's’ category.

The road to the finals has been a month-long journey for some teams, beginning with the live draw that took place on March 26th, laying the foundation for each round. Clubs across the province kicked off their journey through preliminary rounds that took place from April 5th - April 7th, followed by the quarter-final rounds that took place from April 12th - April 14th, and concluding with the semi-final rounds that took place this past weekend from April 19th - April 21st.

2024 Adult Championships, in memory of Kjeld Brodsgaard

This year’s Adult Championships pays tribute to the legacy of Kjeld Brodsgaard. BC Soccer invites the soccer community in BC to celebrate the remarkable life and legacy of Kjeld Brodsgaard, a revered member and champion of BC Soccer. To honour Brodsgaard's memory donations are being accepted to KidSport, an organization dedicated to removing financial barriers for young athletes. A recognition ceremony will be conducted at Starlight Stadium at 1:45 pm on April 28th ahead of the last game of the weekend. We invite all stakeholders to join us online or in person.

The BC Soccer Adult Provincial Championships hold significant implications for the future of soccer in the province. Champions of the A Cup divisions will qualify to compete at Canada Soccer’s National Club Championships, while representatives from the Master's A divisions will have the opportunity to compete in Canada Soccer’s Regional Masters. This year's Champions will have the honour of representing BC in the Toyota National Championships, with the Jubilee and Challenge Trophy competitions set to be held in Surrey between October 9th to October 14th, 2024.
