Supporting the “BMO Girls Play BC!” Initiative - Host Applications!
BC Soccer is seeking clubs who are interested in supporting the “BMO Girls Play BC!” initiative to improve gender equity and empowerment in sport by engaging girls through playing and coaching opportunities.
The “BMO Girls Play BC!” includes the delivery of a Fundamentals coaching course and an organized festival format. This is designed to maximize the experience for women and girls to play, learn about coaching, and be mentored by other women coaches and facilitators. The two main aspects of the program are to develop young female coaches from ages 16 to 18 and to engage female players from ages 7 to 8.
Players can participate for FREE in a festival, while coaches will get the opportunity to get FULLY TRAINED FOR FREE in Fundamentals, with the on-field components delivered at the event.
Host Clubs will be provided with a grant to cover some of the hosting costs. The Club is responsible for providing the infrastructure and the registration of players and coaches. BC Soccer will assign Learning Facilitators to conduct the course and support the program's facilitation.
